What are the effects of Corrosion?

The effect of corrosion is generally a deterioration of the metal affected by Corrosion. Based on the type of corrosion attack, localized or generalized, the corrosion process can causes a general corrosion layer of corrosion  products or if localized the corrosion process can causes very localized corrosion pit , pitting corrosion, with perforation of the metal.
