What is the Densities of Steel

The density of Steel is around 7.7 to 7.9-8.0  g/cc or   lb/in3    depending on the alloy content.

For example an AISI 1005 Steel, low carbon steel, has a density of 7.87 g/cc or 0.28 lb/in3

A medium alloy carbon steel has a density of 7.75-7.89 g/cc or 0.28-0.285 lb/in3

Stainless steel, type AISI 316, has a density of approx 8.0 g/cc or 0.289 lb/in3
